On her birthday, we recognise Daw Aung San Suu Kyi as a source of hope in a time of such darkness for Burma. The power of the gun is strong, but hope in an inclusive future grounded on the will of the people and the rule of law has not been forgotten. Daw Aung San Suu Kyi carries the hopes of so many. All of those detained, assaulted, tortured and murdered by the Tatmadaw are in our thoughts.
